Are you feeling stuck?

Stressed, overwhelmed, or maybe a little empty?

Do you sometimes long to connect with other mothers on a deeper level than the usual playground chit-chat?

Maybe it is time to slow down a little and really look at the way you are living your life– time to be more intentional about making some changes. Join our new motherself group, and allow yourself a little space to explore.

What It Is:

A small group of mothers meet to face our current challenges and delve deeper into how these difficulties can be used for personal growth. The group incorporates short meditation and journaling, as well as reflective speaking. At times we may do some reading between groups, and use this “homework” to further our explorations in group time. We may also  incorporate art and/or movement during particular sessions. After each group session, the women are invited to relax and hang out together for more casual conversation.

What It Is Not:

This is not a therapy group, though it is a place for mutual support towards intentional change. Anyone needing real psychological or psychiatric assistance would be better served in traditional therapy groups.

The meetings are not “bitch sessions”, a time for complaining, gossiping, giving advice, commiserating, or trying to solve each other’s problems — certainly all of these things can be helpful at times, and after the formal group time, anything goes … but during the structured group, the focus is on reflection and an openness to new clarity and perspective.

Price:

There is no set fee for this group, just a donation that you decide on. Participants can offer to host a group meeting at their home as their donation in lieu of a monetary donation.

Time and Place:

The group meets for about 1.5 hours, after which women can choose to go home or stick around and hang out a little longer. We meet once a month. You are free to attend the group when you are able– no commitment is necessary at this point. Newborns and small infants (under 6 months) that can be held are welcome if you need to bring them along. The group is held at a private home, so please email for dates, times, and directions.
